A diverse range of activities will take place across Ashprington, Tuckenhay and the wider parish to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort Camilla between Saturday 6th and Monday 8th May 2023. From bubbles and cake and a Right Royal Roast to singing for the King and a Royal Crow competition, do get involved if you can!
UPDATE 4th MAY: Due to rain being forecast over the weekend, please note that the Afternoon Tea on Saturday 6th May will now take place in Ashprington Village Hall, rather than Ash Meadow. Meanwhile, the Coronation Cheers in Tuckenhay has been relocated from Coronation Plot to Tuckenhay House Garage. The decision has also been made that there is no need to take Royal Crows to Ash Meadow on Monday 8th May for judging – please leave your scarecrow in situ instead, to be judged over the course of the weekend.
To mark the occasion, a commemorative gift will be made for each child in the parish, as below, to be presented at Ash Meadow on Monday 8th May.
Royal Crow competition
Running throughout the Coronation Weekend, this is a chance to get creative by designing a scarecrow figure representing a member of the Royal Family. Full details are below. All entries must be registered by no later than 1st May 2023 to be included in a trail around the parish.

Games will include races, tug-of-war, welly wanging and more, alongside the ever popular egg throwing competition!
Thanks go to Kathi Green who produced the leaflet distributed across the parish and to all those who have volunteered their time to organise activities across the parish to mark this historic occasion.
