Parishioners are advised of upcoming January 2023 footpath closures from Ashprington village to Sharpham Estate affecting a section of Public Footpath No. 8, Ashprington. The temporary closures are required to allow resurfacing of the footpath, which also carries National Cycle Network No. 28 and is a private vehicular access to land including Sharpham Estate.
The dates are 9th – 13th and 16th – 20th January 2023. The works will progress from the Sharpham end toward the village, and the contractors will work as best they can to maintain essential access to land and properties adjoining the footpath. An alternative route for pedestrians is available. Cycle access will not generally be available, as the pedestrian alternative route is not suitable for cycle access.
However, outside work times, and during the intervening weekend, access should be re-opened. Access points at both the Totnes and Ashprington ends will be signed, including with Advance Notice boards.
The area to be affected is outlined in red below, with the blue line indicating the alternative route for pedestrians via Ash Meadow.
