Wednesday 28th June 2023 will see the next opportunity for parishioners to take part in a free Cardiac Arrest Response Seminar with Ashprington & Tuckenhay Defib Support Group and Community Heartbeat Trust.
Ashprington & Tuckenhay Cardiac Arrest Response Seminar
6.30-8.30pm Wednesday 28th June at Ashprington Village Hall
It’s now over a year since we had our last Parish seminar and, as well as some residents being unable to attend last year’s seminar, many have asked for a refresher. With continuing rising waiting lists and very long ambulance waiting times, we feel it is very important to offer a further training opportunity.
A Cardiac Arrest Response Seminar run by the Community Heartbeat Trust will take place in Ashprington Village Hall on 28th June at 18:30. Residents from both villages are urged to take part. The two hour session will include the following:
- What is Sudden Cardiac Arrest?
- 5 minutes to save a life
- Physiology of the heart
- How to recognise Sudden Cardiac Arrest
- How to dial 999
- What to expect
- Questions you will be asked
- What to expect
- How to do CPR and why
- How to use our AEDs (defibrilators)
- Recovery position / turning a patient
- Handover to paramedics
- Governance and support programmes
We will also have an update on the Volunteer Emergency Telephone Service (VETS) and be asking for more Tuckenhay VETS volunteers. The session is FREE to residents of Ashprington Parish. Donations to the Defibrilator Support Group and The Community Heartbeat Trust are welcome.
Please always keep the Village Emergency Telephone System number to hand, just in case: 01803 500 535
