- Chairman’s Annual Report.
As always, a very busy year, with the community and council being involved in many activities.
Planning – The Council has considered 12 applications during the last year. With the Parish having so many mature trees lots of TPO applications for tree works have been submitted.
Dogs – the amount of Dog Fouling in Duncannon Lane was brought to the Parish Councils attention at each meeting, since a Dog Bin has been installed this has alleviated the problem, many thanks to Hannah Throgmorton for emptying this on a regular basis, we are currently speaking to SHDC about getting it put on the Bin Collection rota.
War Memorial – a very good Remembrance Sunday was again held this year, thanks must go to Cllr Stuart Greaves for his organisation, getting the various groups & individuals together to commemorate the day. A donation was again made to the British Legion.
Parking- As always we ask parishioners and visitors to park with consideration. Cllr K Throgmorton has been in charge of the positioning of cones has helped with the gritter being able to gain access through the Village.
Highways – Pot holes still remain an issue. We continue to ask Parishioners to report these and any other road defects on the DCC website, they must be logged on the system to get any action taken. Although the DCC has risen for the coming year it will still not be enough to tackle all the issues needed on our miles of Devon Roads.
Defibrillators – Johnny Gurr has taken over from Sophie Paterson as Chair for this, fund raising is ongoing as the Defibs will shortly need to be replaced.
The Village Hall committee continues to support events in the village.
Ash Meadow committee, ably led by Ian Bentlett – The composting site remains busy with work being done this year to improve the composting bunkers. A mower has been purchased which will mean that the Grass Cutting will be carried out by volunteers and should be a large saving on expenditure.
Local Council review – The consultation period has now finished for the various Unitary Authority options which were put forward, we now await government to decide the outcome as to how a new unitary authority will be formed in 2028.
I would like to thank all Councillors for their willingness to put themselves forward for the good of the community in which we live.
We continue to have been well supported too by Simon Rake, our County Councillor, and John McKay, our District Councillor.
- Any Questions from Public present.
Closed 7.38 to be followed by a Parish Council meeting.
